Nikil you need to see a doctor. You can ring NHS Direct for advice on 0845 4647 so you can register with a doctor. All doctors registered with the Faculty of Homeopathy are medically qualified as well as being qualified in homeopathy.

So here's a question - if someone with an undiagnosed heart problem, perhaps with only mild symptoms, went to see a homeopath who was not a doctor, would the heart problem be spotted? I think its pretty clear that it probably wouldn't. Going to a real doctor would increase the chance of diagnosis significantly to my mind.

So unless EVERY non-medically qualified homepath ROUTINELY refers each new patient to their G.P., isn't that going to mean more undiagnosed heart problems (and hence morbidity) than in a world without homeopathy/CAM?

I think that's fairly plausible, so does it mean that lives could be saved by banning CAM therapists from seeing patients who haven't been refered by a GP?

I would agree - 'non-medical homeopaths' should not be allowed to see patients unless they have been referred by a GP or other health professional
