On Tuesday 29th October the Health and Sport Committee will meet at the Scottish Parliament to consider the future of Glasgow’s NHS Centre for Integrative Care (CIC) formerly the Glasgow Homeopathic Hospital. Information submitted by the Cross Party Group on Chronic Pain will be debated alongside petition PE1568 – Funding, Access and Promotion of the NHS Centre for Integrative Care.
The petition is part of an ongoing campaign coordinated by Catherine Hughes, to secure national funding for the hospital which has been under threat of closure since 2017. Catherine, a healthcare professional and former patient at the CIC, has called upon people in Scotland to get involved: “It would be very helpful if you could please contact your MSPs ahead of this meeting to inform them that the petition is to be reconsidered and tell them why you think this issue is important. It would also be helpful if you can please ask them to attend the meeting or failing that, write a letter to the committee in support of this petition. Everyone in Scotland has 8 MSPs who represent them: a constituency MSP and 7 regional MSPs. Please try to contact all of them all either in writing or person to brief them about your concerns”.
You can find your MSPs by putting your email and address into the MSP finder webpage: https://www.parliament.scot/mspfinder/index.html
