Our colleagues at the Faculty of Homeopathy have today announced His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales as their new patron.
Dr Gary Smyth, President of the Faculty of Homeopathy comments, “As the Faculty celebrates its 175th anniversary this year, it is an enormous honour for us to receive the Patronage of His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales and I am delighted to announce this news today. I look forward to working with members, friends and supporters of the Faculty, continuing our important work, promoting Homeopathy within both public and professional circles and maintaining awareness of this system of medicine”.
Former Faculty President, the late Dr Peter Fisher, served as Homeopathic Physician to the Queen and the royal family has a long association with the practise. Queen Adelaide (1792–1849), wife of King William IV, is widely believed to be the first royal to have benefitted from homeopathic treatment with records showing her enthusing about the “new medicine” in 1835.
His Royal Highness Prince Charles is well known for his support of Homeopathy and Integrated Medicine and has successfully used homeopathic treatments on his dairy farms.
Founded in 1844 and incorporated by Act of Parliament in 1950, the Faculty of Homeopathy is one of the longest established Homeopathic organisations in the world.
